JCoCo cayenne veracruz orange
August 18, 2014 - chocolate
What a pleasant surprise: a white chocolate with some heat – not overwhelming or overpowering – but just a little touch of chili pepper and cayenne. I’m not sure what surprised me the most: the smooth consistency of the white chocolate, which in my experience has always been either too brittle, or too chunky; the pleasant amount of orange oil to give a sweet high note to offset the cocoa butter; or the nice finishing kick of the cayenne flavor from the chili powder once the orange has evaporated from your mouth.
No matter which was most pleasant; the key point is that this bar was an overall surprise, and it should not come as a surprise that this was from the Seattle Chocolate Company, under the Jcoco brand.
My only real complaint? The bar was only a paltry, single, miniscule, solitary, insufficient ounce. A pathetic, barely-enough-to-enjoy 28 grams of chocolate. I wish I had this in a bigger size. Then again, maybe not, as I would definitely hoover the whole thing at once.
